Term Two

A very warm welcome back to Term Two. I hope you all had a happy Easter and a relaxing holiday.

We have begun the term with a hiss and a roar!
Children are now settled back into their familiar routines and eager to get on with learning.
As the winter months approach we will begin inside lunch eating where children can stay warm and dry. Our main Inquiry topic this term will be Every Day Heroes where we will look at the core services and professions that contribute to our community. On Thursday we had our very own BDS ANZAC ceremony and the children have learnt a little about the significance of ANZAC day for our country. We have had our very own Field of Remembrance at the front of the school and classes have walked around and reflected on those from our community who went to war to fight for our country.

Buddy Reading with Room 21

We love buddy reading. Once a week we get together with our buddy class and read to each other. It is a great opportunity to get to know someone older in the school and they are super role models to us.

Warm Fuzzies in Room 7

At the end of the day we have our reflection time. This is when we think about our learning and brainstorm ways that we can model our values. We also give warm fuzzies to our star helpers. It is our favourite time of the day.
