Guinea Pigs visit Room 9
4:57 PM |
ZS's grandparents brought in 2 guinea pigs for a visit. It was very exciting. Lots of us had never patted a guinea pig before. Their hair was soft and silky. Everyone got to have a hold.
We learnt lots of things about guinea pigs. Did you know they only have 4 teeth at the front? Two short ones up the top and two longs ones down the bottom. There favourite food is fresh green grass.
They make a purring sound a bit like a hum when they are happy- soooo cute.
Baby guinea pigs are born with teeth and they eat grass and drink milk from their mummies from day 1! They can be all sorts of colours.
The white one is called Snowy and the brown one is Sam. Snowy is a boy. Sam is a girl. Sam followed Snowy around everywhere he went.
Snowy hid under ZW's skirt and all the children laughed. It was a nice warm safe place, and ZW tells us it tickled.
